Fall Into the Season of Giving

There’s something special about the arrival of fall. The days get a little shorter, the air gets a little cooler, and suddenly everything seems to be flavored with pumpkin spice. (We’re not complaining!) At The Green Apple Pantry, the changing season also means changes behind the scenes as we begin preparing for the months ahead.

As fall arrives, the types of food we receive and distribute begin to change. We start preparing for the colder months and the holiday season, when the need in our community can be especially great. Our Fall Commodities distribution is one important part of that preparation, providing additional food resources to local families.

A Few September Schedule Changes-

To prepare for Fall Commodities, our schedule will look a little different in early September. The Green Apple Pantry will be closed Monday, September 7, for Labor Day, as well as Tuesday, September 8, while our team and volunteers pack Commodity boxes. We will also be closed Wednesday, September 9, for Commodity distribution.

We will reopen for our regular pantry schedule on Thursday, September 10.

Preparing for a Season of Giving

Fall also means the countdown to our "Great Gatsby Gala" is getting closer! Our team and volunteers have been busy preparing for an evening of food, fun, and fundraising in support of the Green Apple Pantry.

As we head toward the holiday season, every donation, volunteer hour, and act of generosity helps us make sure our shelves are ready to meet the needs of our community. Whether you give your time, donate food, contribute financially, or support our Gala, you are helping make sure our neighbors have a seat at the table.

So as you enjoy your pumpkin spice lattes, cozy sweaters, and all the other signs of fall, we invite you to "FALL into the season of giving" with us.
